New workspaces show a Getting Started checklist on the dashboard. It is four steps. The last one is deliberate: nothing sends until you go live.

The four steps

  1. Create your account — done when you finished signup (company and country shown as complete).
  2. Connect your invoices — link Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, or import a CSV. When data lands, the checklist shows how many invoices are on the book.
  3. Choose your reminder style — open Reminders and pick or edit a ladder (Standard is the default). You can start with stock sequences: Standard, Gentle, or Firm-But-Fair.
  4. Go live — when the first three are done, click Go Live. PayBlah asks for a last check, then switches chasing on for invoices you enrol. Nothing sends without that step and your schedule.

The checklist shows progress such as “3 of 4 done”. Until Go Live is complete, the product stays in setup mode for sending.

Onboarding path after connect

When you connect books, you may also see an onboarding flow with steps like Connect, Import, What you are owed, Choose style, and Go live. On the “Here’s What You’re Owed” screen you can Set Up Reminders or choose I’ll Look Around First. Looking around first does not enable sends.

What happens after Go Live

  • Enrolled open invoices can move along the ladder on the schedule you set (quiet hours, weekdays, send time).
  • Email is the launch channel. Text messaging is planned for territories later; there is no launch date in product help for SMS.
  • Firm and Final style steps can wait for human approval in Activity before they go out.

What this does not do

  • Completing early checklist rows does not email your customers.
  • Go Live does not bypass Never chase, disputes, promises, or pause states.
  • PayBlah is not a debt collector. Messages go out in your name as the sender.

PayBlah is accounts-receivable automation software. You remain the creditor. Confirm local rules with your own advisor for your territory (US, UK, Ireland, or Australia).
