Getting started

See what you are owed

Open Dashboard to read Overdue payments recorded, Total overdue, and Open balance by age. There is no “Here’s What You’re Owed” onboarding step.

Plan: Dashboard is available on every plan including the 30-day Starter trial. The Admin setup checklist appears only for people who can administer the workspace.

Once invoices are on the book, Dashboard shows outstanding balances so you can prioritise without exporting a spreadsheet. Viewing the page does not send reminders.

Who can do this

  • Any signed-in member of the workspace can open Dashboard.
  • Admins also see Setup help and, unless they hid it, the Finish setting up PayBlah checklist. Standard users do not see that checklist.

Read a book that already has invoices

  1. Sign in and open Dashboard.
  2. Optional top-bar actions: Add Customer or Add Invoice (forms slide down on the same page).
  3. On the hero card, use period pills 30 days, 90 days, or This year.
  4. Read Overdue payments recorded — payments PayBlah has on the book for that period (manual, synced, and payment-link). The attribution line is money paid after a PayBlah reminder or through a PayBlah link. That is not the same as “PayBlah collected the debt.”
  5. Read snapshot tiles: Total overdue, Being chased (invoices in active follow-up), Due soon, On hold (promised, disputed, paused, part paid).
  6. Use Open balance by age bands (Due Soon, 1–7, 8–14, 15–30, 31–60, 60+). Tap a band to open that slice of Invoices.
  7. Check Needs you for human decisions (approvals, disputes, promises, stop requests that still need Accept or Decline, queued letters, untriaged replies). Check Coming up for scheduled reminders. Firm and Final copy still needs approval at send time.

The sidebar kicker is Payments · Last 30 Days. Nav is Dashboard, Invoices, Customers, Workflows, Activity, Reports, Settings, Support. Payment Plans appears when that feature is on. There is no nav item named Debtors or Reminders.

Empty or first-run dashboard

With no live invoices, Dashboard shows the getting-started card (for Admins) and a trial strip such as Your {plan} trial has N days left with See plans. Promo copy talks about overdue balances, ageing, money paid after a reminder, and decisions — not a collector’s recovery claim.

What you should see

Totals that match the invoices PayBlah has imported or added. Zero is a real number on a populated dashboard, not a separate “nothing overdue” card.

If something goes wrong

  • No checklist: you may be a Standard user, or an Admin hid it. Use Setup helpShow setup checklist if you can administer the workspace.
  • Zeros everywhere: confirm invoices exist under Invoices and are not all archived.
  • Want a risk-free click-around? Setup helpExplore the safe demo. That isolated page cannot send and is not the signup Demo book.

What this does not do

  • Viewing balances does not enrol or chase anyone.
  • Age bands do not change your accounting source.
  • Recorded and “paid after a reminder or link” figures are not a full cashbook and are not a claim that PayBlah caused every payment.
