Ageing shows how long invoices have been past due so you work the riskiest balances first. The dashboard bands and the Invoices Outside plan age tab are two different cuts.
Dashboard bands
- Open Dashboard.
- Find Open balance by age (days past due).
- Read bands: Due Soon, 1–7, 8–14, 15–30, 31–60, 60+.
- Tap a band to open that Invoices slice.
The hint may exclude an amount that is outside plan age — that money lives on the other tab, not in these six bands.
Invoice list age
- Open Invoices.
- On Active, read the Age column (for example 16d overdue, or “in 2d” when not yet due).
- Open Outside plan age for invoices at or past your tenant cutoff (default 90 days overdue). Help text: they are outside active management, use no active invoice space, and are not chased automatically.
Active and Outside plan age each show at most 100 rows. This tab is not the dashboard 60+ band, and it is not the Reports 30/60/90 snapshot.
How ageing helps chasing
Workflows place steps at day offsets before or after the due date. Ageing is how you check that the journey still matches risk. Firm and Final steps often sit further out and always need approval before they send.
Expected result
Tapping a dashboard band filters Invoices by that band. Outside plan age invoices stay visible but are not automatically chased and do not consume an active space.
If something looks wrong
- A 60+ dashboard band still shows invoices you thought were aged out — they are under the 90-day default (or your tenant cutoff), not at 60.
- Outside plan age looks empty while Active is huge — those rows are still inside the cutoff.
What this does not do
- Age bands do not change due dates in accounting.
- They do not auto-write off 60+ balances.
- Outside plan age is not “upgrade to chase further on Starter.” It is the age cutoff.
