Setup is seven steps: Your business, Invoices, Email, Workflow, Select invoices, Review journey, Activate. Each time you press Continue or I’ve reviewed the journey, that step is stored. Save and exit leaves the wizard on purpose, records the leave, and sends you to the dashboard. It does not snapshot the form you are still typing.
Who can do this
- Anyone who can open the wizard can press Save and exit.
- Only an Admin can save a step or activate. The product says Only an Admin can complete setup.
Leave setup
- Open setup (
/onboarding, or a checklist link such as Add / Import / Connect / Activate). - Finish the current step with Continue if you want those fields kept. Unsaved boxes on the open step will be discarded.
- Press Save and exit in the header.
- You land on Dashboard. Flash: Setup saved. Continue from the same step whenever you are ready.
Resume the exact unfinished step
- From Dashboard, open the getting-started card and press the current row, or go to
/onboarding. - PayBlah opens the first step you have not completed — the same pointer it stored after your last Continue.
- If you had browsed backward to an earlier finished step and then pressed Save and exit, resume is still that first unfinished step, not the earlier page you were rereading.
- You cannot skip ahead to a later step you have not reached.
- Work the remaining steps. Nothing customer-facing is queued until step 7 Start following up.
Closing the tab without pressing Save and exit does not erase steps you already continued. Those were stored on Continue. Save and exit is the explicit leave: dashboard return, flash, and a recorded resume point. It is not a fake link.
Expected result
Completed steps stay completed. The dashboard checklist reflects saved evidence. Reopening setup starts on the stored unfinished step. No reminder is sent by leaving. After you later press Start following up, the success screen is Your first Workflow is live.
If something goes wrong
- Another tab changed setup: Setup was updated elsewhere. Refresh before continuing. Refresh, then leave or continue again.
- Activation failed later: Activation could not be completed. Nothing was sent and your choices are saved. That is step 7, not Save and exit.
- A step would not save: stay on that step, fix the error, press Continue before you exit if you need those fields.
- Need a look around first? Step 2 Explore the safe demo is isolated and cannot send. Leaving the demo returns you to the stored setup step.
What this does not do
- It does not write the open form. Type, then Continue, then Save and exit if you want both.
- It does not email customers or start a Workflow.
- It does not skip Never chase, disputes, promises, or a manual pause when you later activate.
- It does not use a PayBlah shared-domain mailbox. Email still has to be your Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or tested SMTP.
