Open Billing, or Settings → sidebar View plan → pane Plan & billing → Compare plans. Admins also see Change Plan.
Feature locks (not the invoice meter)
- Extra seats / invites — Starter is 1 seat. Growth and above (including Enterprise) unlock multi-user invites from Settings → Team.
- Promises and Record settlement — Pro and above.
- Payment plans (instalments) — Pro (up to 3) and Business (up to 12), when Settings → Payment plans & bundles allows them.
- Portal / payment links — Compare plans and catalogue copy still say Growth+. The invoice page can still mint a Payment link without a plan-rank check. Card checkout still needs a usable tenant Stripe connection. That mismatch is a product contradiction — do not treat “Starter has no portal” or “every Starter link works” as settled.
- Text messaging — not a self-serve unlock. SMS is gated estate-wide. See Text messaging coming later.
Do not look for “approval routing” as a Business add-on. Firm and Final always wait for a person on every plan. Who must approve is not a launched feature.
Never locked (safety)
Stop on recorded payment, untriaged-reply hold, dispute hold, kill switch, Firm/Final approval, carrier SMS STOP when texts exist, and the sent log are not sold as upgrades. If those appear missing, treat it as a product issue — not something you pay to unlock.
Active invoice capacity
The enforced limit is concurrent active invoices, not an overdue money “balance cap” and not a chase-count of messages. Invoice value is unlimited on every named plan.

These states keep a space until the invoice closes: chasing, paused (including a manual pause), promised, disputed, and part-paid. Waiting to Start does not consume a space. Paid, settled, written down, or archived invoices free a space.
When the book is full, extra eligible invoices wait. In-flight work is not killed. Older balance-cap figures are leftover metadata only — do not use them as a plan limit. Checkout may still print a leftover “Balance chased” line; that is not the enforced meter.
What to do
- Read Active invoice spaces: N of L on Billing or Plan & billing.
- If you need a feature on a higher tier, an Admin uses Compare plans → Choose {name}. Paid mid-term upgrades may currently refuse with Paid mid-term upgrades are temporarily unavailable — nothing is taken.
- If you only need more spaces on a USD paid account, use Capacity packs → Add pack (+25 / $19, +100 / $49, +250 / $99, max two). EUR and GBP packs are not sold.
- Close or finish paused / promised / disputed / part-paid invoices if they are occupying spaces you thought were free.
Expected result
A feature lock stays until the plan (or setting) includes it. A full capacity meter shows Waiting to Start on extra invoices, not a failed upgrade.
If something looks wrong
- You paused invoices expecting the meter to drop — it will not. Resume or close them, or raise capacity.
- You are not an Admin — you can read Compare plans but cannot Change Plan.
- Then contact Support with subject Billing & my plan.
