A payment link is a secure URL for one debtor’s open invoices with you. It opens the debtor portal — branded with your business name — and keeps PayBlah as a small “powered by” line only.
Where to find the link
- Open the invoice from Invoices (or from the debtor).
- In the side panel, find Payment link.
- Press Copy (or Copy payment link where shown).
- Optional: use Preview what the debtor sees so you open the same page they will.
Reminders on Growth+ are designed to include the portal link so the customer does not need a separate email from you.
What the link does
- Shows unpaid invoices covered by that link (amount, reference, due date).
- Offers actions: how to pay, pay part, tell you when they will pay (Pro+), send a message.
- Does not require the customer to create a PayBlah account.
What it does not do
- Starter accounts do not get portal or payment links — that plan is email chasing and sync only.
- Card checkout on the pay page only works when a payment provider is switched on for the link. If card is not on, the portal says so plainly and points the customer to pay you the way they normally do (for example bank transfer), quoting the invoice number.
- PayBlah does not take custody of customer payments. Money goes to you via your usual rails or a connected provider when that is enabled.
After you send it
When the customer uses the link, activity lands in your account (messages, promises, payments as they are recorded). Payment detection is designed to stop chasing on that invoice when a payment is recorded — see When a payment is detected.
