Getting paid

Set up a payment plan

Payment plans (arrangements) are instalment agreements between you and your customer. PayBlah only records the plan and follows it — while a plan runs, chasing follows the schedule instead of the reminder ladder.

Plan: Instalment plans are plan-gated (Pro / Business caps). Business showcase: 12 instalments per agreement. Creating a new plan follows your current entitlement; an active plan is designed to keep running if you later change tier.

In the app the feature is labelled Payment Plans (URL path /arrangements). It is not a loan product and not debt collection — it is a schedule you and your customer already agreed.

Open Payment Plans

  1. Go to Payment Plans (or start from a debtor who needs a schedule).
  2. Read the intro: PayBlah records and follows the agreement; while a plan runs, chasing follows the schedule instead of the ladder.
  3. Note the instalment cap for your plan (Business showcase copy: Your plan allows 12 instalments per agreement).
  4. Press New plan and build the schedule on a debtor/invoice that still has balance.

Tabs

  • In progress — live or waiting plans.
  • Finished — completed, cancelled, defaulted, and other closed states.

While a plan runs

  • Reminder ladder steps for that debt give way to the instalment schedule.
  • Each instalment is tracked so you can see what is due next.
  • When the schedule completes, normal chasing rules no longer apply to a cleared balance.

What PayBlah will not do

  • It does not invent an agreement for you. You (or a portal flow where offered) must set the plan.
  • It does not buy the debt or contact the customer as a third-party agency.
  • It will not silently write off the difference if someone underpays an instalment — you still own the outcome.

Empty state guidance: open a debtor who owes more than they can pay this month and offer a schedule — the honest alternative to a dispute nobody meant to raise.

PayBlah is accounts-receivable automation software. You remain the creditor. Confirm local rules with your own advisor for your territory (US, UK, Ireland, or Australia).
