Use DEBT AGING when you want an accountant-style read of where the open book sits today. It is a snapshot, not a history of last quarter.
Before you start
- Sign in and open Reports.
- Amounts are the workspace home currency from Settings → Localisation.
- The age cutoff lives under Settings → Reminder defaults as Stop chasing after (default 90 days from the due date).
Read the bands
- Open Reports in the left nav.
- Ignore the period pills for this panel — they do not rewind aging.
- Find the panel eyebrow DEBT AGING and the heading Where the outstanding book sits. The caption is “30 / 60 / 90 accountant view” plus today’s date. That caption is a nickname. Read the four row labels, not a fifth 90-day bucket.
- Read each row: Current, 30 days, 60 days, 60+ days. Each row shows an invoice count and an amount.
- Click a row to open Invoices and work that slice of the book.
- If you need a file, use the page-level Export CSV in the top bar. The aging section of that file uses the same four bands. There is no PDF and no export button on the panel itself.
What each band holds
- Current — not yet overdue (due today or later). This amount is in Outstanding now and not in Overdue now.
- 30 days — 1 to 30 days past due. This groups the finer dashboard chase bands (1–7, 8–14, 15–30).
- 60 days — 31 to 60 days past due.
- 60+ days — more than 60 days past due, up to but not including the age cutoff.
The Dashboard uses more bands because it is built for chasing. Reports regroups the same open invoices for an accountant-style view. Only open, non-archived invoices for non-archived customers in the home currency are included.
The age cutoff
Invoices whose days past due are at or past Stop chasing after leave this snapshot. They do not inflate Outstanding now, Overdue now, or the 60+ row. Change that setting on Reminder defaults if the cutoff itself is wrong — do not expect Reports to invent a 90-day total because the caption mentions 90.
TOP CUSTOMERS on the same page does not apply this cutoff. Its “total outstanding” can be higher than Outstanding now. That is the product, not a rounding error.
Scheduled email
An Owner or Admin can include Aged debt in a live digest under Settings → Scheduled Reports (button on Reports: Schedule Reports). The email repeats Outstanding now, Overdue now, and the four band amounts. It is not a PDF of the panel.
What you should see
Four labeled rows that add up to Outstanding now. Overdue now is the three overdue rows (30 / 60 / 60+). Current stays in outstanding only.
If something looks wrong
- Period pills moved and aging did not — expected. Aging is always today.
- A very old invoice is missing — check Stop chasing after.
- Top Customers total disagrees with Outstanding now — cutoff applies to aging only.
- Foreign-currency invoices missing — only the home currency is totalled.
- No PDF on the panel — there is none. Use the top-bar CSV.
What this does not do
- It does not time-travel the book to a past month-end.
- It does not chase anyone or change invoice state.
- It is not a third-party collection report.
